As a seasoned professional, Jim has developed a recognized practice in technology and internet applications. Representative client engagements include many Board of Director, CEO and presidential roles, with a number of VP-level engagements across the functional spectrum in sales, marketing, technology, operations, and finance.
Jim's experience and industry leadership matches the values and close client involvement emphasized by BSG. His work with Team Ventures adds value to his work with private equity and developing business, as well as new growth leaders for change, innovation, technology-driven intrapreneurial business in the corporate environment.
Over the last eight years, Jim ran a practice working directly with investment groups during the Internet bubble and then in a contract talent management role in three global information services companies sequentially.
Jim has twenty years of line operating experience and served as CEO of a Spanish owned media company. His career background consists of five years at General Electric, ten years at McGraw-Hill, and five years at CBS before becoming President of Las Americas, a Spanish-owned firm engaged in publishing and broadcasting in the U.S. Jim has more than ten years of professional experience working overseas with residence in Mexico, Spain, and Canada with strong awareness of cross-cultural sensitivities. He built a specialty search practice in media and information services and ran that practice at two global firms.
Jim received a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the American Management Association HR Council. He has served on the Board of the Software Information Industry Association, the Magazine Publisher's Association, and the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters (IACPR). He is a frequent speaker on building for success in growth companies, and changing CEO leadership needs. He has been profiled in The Career Makers (Harper & Row) as one of America's top recruiters.
